On May 4th, 2017, The Unity Council participated in East Bay Gives, a coordinated day of giving hosted by the East Bay Community Foundation. With a goal of $15,000, The Unity Council staff worked hard to get our community to donate to help us reach our goals. Douglas Parking, a local company, chipped in $5,000 to start the day off on the right foot.
Throughout the day we competed against other participating nonprofits for cash prizes donated by the East Bay Community Foundation. Our biggest accomplishment was winning the “Community Improvement” nonprofit with the most donors during the 10pm – 11pm time slot, which resulted in a $3,000 cash prize!
All in all, we exceeded our goal of $15,000 and earned a solid $20,470!
