Rafael Velazquez
Rafael joined The Unity Council in mid-June as the Associate Director of Health and Social Services, overseeing three main areas, Career, and Financial Services, Senior and Resident Services, and the COVID-19 response which includes the CommunIty Ambassador and Food Security programs.

Before his role at TUC, Rafael was the Director of HIV Services at Instituto Familiar de la Raza in San Francisco’s Mission District. He managed HIV and LGBT health services programs, including mental and behavioral health. The population he served included immigrants, low-income individuals, youth, and seniors.

The Washington state native holds BAs in Political Science and Ethnic Studies from the University of Washington and MAs in Public Health and City Planning from UC Berkeley.
