On Thursday May 29th, The Unity Council proudly hosted the Bay Area Latine Regional Convening at Juntos Fruitvale—a powerful gathering dedicated to advancing equity and economic inclusion for Latine communities across the region.
The event brought together community leaders, elected officials, philanthropic partners, and advocates—including our founder Arabella Martinez, CEO Chris Iglesias, and newly elected Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee. Through meaningful dialogue and collective reflection, participants explored strategies to strengthen community power and drive systemic change.
Together, we envisioned a unified regional response that centers Latine voices, dismantles structural barriers, and reimagines systems rooted in equity and justice.
