Access to safe, stable, and affordable housing is essential, especially for older adults in our community. That’s why we’re excited to announce that the waitlist for Merritt Crossing, a senior housing community in Downtown Oakland, is opening soon!
To support those interested in applying, The Unity Council is hosting an Application Workshop on February 25 at 1900 Fruitvale Ave from 9 AM – 5 PM. This workshop will provide guidance on the application process and ensure that eligible residents have the support they need to secure housing.
About Merritt Crossing
Merritt Crossing offers studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments designed to provide safe and affordable housing for older adults in Oakland. This housing opportunity is income-based, making it accessible to seniors with limited financial resources.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the waitlist, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The head of household must be 55 years or older
- Other household members must be 45 years or older
- All applicants must have a Social Security Number
- Eligibility is based on income requirements
