For the past 39 years, the senior services staff have hosted a Thanksgiving luncheon for over 150 seniors. The meal is prepared by Obelisco Restaurant, served by our staff members and is followed by an evening of entertainment that includes dancing and a drag queen show by Las Chicas de Medio Dia (The Ladies of the Afternoon). The drag queen show is entirely in Spanish, and it features songs from famous Latin American singers. This is an invitation-only event.

- One winner will receive an exclusive invitation to the Annual Latino Men & Boys End of Year Ceremonia! The Latino Men & Boys Program providesculturally-relevant mentorship to young men and boys in nine Oakland UnifiedSchools. The annual Ceremonia, which takes place on Thursday, May 15th from6:00-8:00 pm at the Metropolitan Golf Course, celebrates achievements,matriculations from middle to high school, and graduations of the nearly 200 young men in the program. You will be our guest to the dinner and program, andwill have a chance to meet the young leaders in Oakland and meet with theincredible funders of the program. This is an invitation-only event.

- One winner will receive a tour of Fruitvale Village Phase II, including lunch with CEO Chris Iglesias at Nyum Bai. Fruitvale Village Phase II includes Casa Arabella, 94-units of affordable housing currently under construction. You’ll also see the future site of 188-units of affordable housing, in pre-development. Finally, you’ll end with lunch at Nyum Bai, one of the newest restaurants in Fruitvale, whose chef, Nite Yun, a Cocina alumna, has won numerous national accolades, including Bon Appetit’s Hot 10, Eater’s best new restaurants list, and is nominated for the 2019 James Beard Award.
Finally, we’ll end our three-days of giving with a HAPPY HOUR at Fruitvale’s Aloha Club. 10% of all proceeds from the bar that night will go to our fundraising goal, and we’ll have door prizes and more for first 50 guests! Have a drink, meet our Unity Council family, and join us!
