After nearly 40 years and hundreds of tenants, Posada de Colores will receive a 10 Million dollar renovation! Not only does this mean a clean, new, and modern interior for residents, it also locks affordability for another 50 years.
Posada De Colores, our largest senior housing development, is an eight-story senior complex with 100 one-bedroom apartments. The property is a HUD 202/Section 8 senior housing for very low-income elderly or handicapped/disabled, funded by the U.S Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD).
The latest rehab will be a comprehensive makeover for all the seniors’ units, façade, indoor community spaces, and landscaping. The indoor rehab will include a major makeover of all 100 units giving new flooring, bathrooms, closets, kitchen cabinets, and appliances to the residents. The rehab will also make the building energy efficient by incorporating water-saving toilets and showers, LED lighting, and light saving appliances.
The rehab will also give the building outdoor space a new look, the façade will be painted a new color, the balcony rails will be replaced, and the landscaping will incorporate more plants and trees around the facility.
Posada’s rehab is currently underway; so far we have completed the renovation of fourteen units. We still have much work to do, but we believe our seniors deserve to have a beautiful and energy-efficient living space.
