The Unity Council had a fantastic experience at the 2023 Annual Hispanics In Philanthropy Leadership Conference! The event began with a memorable tour of the Fruitvale District, where we showcased iconic landmarks such as the Fruitvale Transit Village, Casa Arabella, La Clinica de la Raza, and Casa Sueños. We were proud to have Arabella Martinez and Jane Garcia join us on this tour, and our guests left feeling inspired and well-fed, proudly wearing custom-designed t-shirts by the talented Favianna Rodriguez!
On the final day, we hosted an exciting panel discussion focusing on our collaboration with the San Francisco Foundation (SFF) as part of the Latino Kitchen Cabinet and the Bay Area Latinx Power Building Initiative. We were honored to hear from distinguished speakers, including Fred Blackwell, CEO of SFF; Rev. Miguel Bustos, a member of the San Francisco Foundation Board of Trustees; Rita Mancera, Executive Director of Puente de la Costa Sur; and Ani Rivera, Executive Director of La Galeria de la Raza. The conversations were deeply inspiring and showcased the power of collaboration!
