The Unity Council Joins Latino Coalition for a Healthy California in Launch of Latine and Indigenous Regional Power Hubs

October 3, 2025

[Oakland, CA] – The Unity Council is proud to partner with the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California (LCHC) in the launch of the Latine and Indigenous Regional Power Hubs Network (RPHN), a groundbreaking initiative designed to strengthen collaboration among trusted community organizations advancing health equity across California.

LCHC, the state’s leading policy organization focused on Latine and Indigenous health, created the RPHN to formalize and expand a network of local organizations working together to transform California into a place where Latine and Indigenous communities can thrive.

“This initiative harnesses our collective power, weaving together a shared vision for California, one of true health justice,” said Dr. Seciah Aquino, Executive Director of LCHC. “We each play a crucial role, whether through direct service, advocacy, or serving as trusted messengers. Together, we form the complete picture of a just and equitable health and safety-net system. When we stand united, our voices are stronger, our impact is greater, and our vision of health justice becomes a reality.”

Building Regional Power for Health Equity

The Regional Power Hubs will:

Unify the Latine and Indigenous health equity movement by integrating social determinants of health into statewide and local policy change.

Strengthen communication and collaboration between community organizations and the state, leveraging decades of trusted relationships.

Expand opportunities for local and regional organizations to influence statewide systems and policy transformation.

Through this effort, LCHC is investing directly in regional partners, ensuring that community leaders’ expertise and lived experiences guide culturally and linguistically responsive health policies and outreach strategies.
