After The Unity Council announced groundbreaking on a top affordable housing project in Oakland, the San Francisco Business Times approached our organization to learn more about Casa Arabella and The Unity Council’s efforts to combat the affordable housing crisis in the Bay Area. Casa Arabella is The Unity Council’s largest development project since the Fruitvale Transit Village; the new development will create 94 affordable apartments next to the Fruitvale Bart Station.
Over time, TUC has invested over 100 million dollars in community assets, including affordable housing and community benefit developments like the Fruitvale Transit Village—a nationally recognized transit-oriented development project.
