Are you looking to gain work experience or help finding a career pathway, but don’t know where to start? Our Youth Career Services offer case management, resume development, job search, paid job readiness trainings & paid internships. Our dedicated staff and programs are tailored for young adults at any stage of their career and educational search.
Programs/Services:
1) Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA)-Our WIOA Youth program offers career coaching, job readiness training, paid internships and vocational training. Participants are eligible for supportive services and paid milestone incentives.
2) Oakland Forward –Our Oakland Forward program is focused on environmental literacy and green jobs exploration for young Oakland residents. We offer paid internships in the green jobs sector, supportive services and milestone incentives. Oakland Forward participants can also enroll in our Roots of Success training, a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Pre-Apprenticeship program that leads to an Environmental Specialist certification and exposure to different sectors in the environmental industry.
3) STEP-( Student Training and Employment Program) Our STEP program is designed to provide career exploration services to students with disabilities. Students participate in a paid job readiness training before placement in paid work experience opportunities tailored to their individual interests. We offer career coaching, job readiness training and paid internships for students with disabilities.
4) Proyecto Colibri– Proyecto Colibri offers entrepreneurship training, job readiness preparation and paid internships for undocumented young people. Participants work with their career coach and the financial coaching team to create a plan for long term financial stability.
