Accepting Rental Applications for Casa Velasco Affordable Senior Housing

ACCEPTING APPLICANTS 62 OR OLDER OR HANDICAPPED/DISABLED.

Must be Income Qualified.

Located at 3430 Foothill Blvd, Oakland CA 94601, Casa Velasco Senior Housing is a four-story building with 20 apartments (8 one-bedroom and 12 studios). Casa Velasco is a HUD 202/Section 8 senior housing for very low-income elderly or handicapped/disabled, funded by the U.S Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD).

General requirements:

  • The household must be capable of meeting all landlord/lease obligations and program requirements.
  • Head of Household/Co-Head or Spouse must be at least 62 years of age; or 18 years of age or older and disabled, requiring accessibility features in a unit.
  • The household must meet Income Limits for this area: Currently, they are: one Person $45,700 and two persons $52,200

How do I submit an application? All applicants must fill out The Unity Council Application for Occupancy and the HUD Application Form and submit them no later than July 6th, 2020.

How do I submit an application? There are five ways to submit a completed application to our leasing team, you can:

  1. Click here to upload your completed application forms.
  2. Mail your completed forms to 2221 Fruitvale Ave Oakland, CA 94601
  3. Fax your completed forms to (510) 534-3781
  4. E-mail your completed forms to casavelasco@unitycouncil.org
  5. Drop off box your completed forms at Leasing office 2221 Fruitvale Ave Oakland, CA 94601

When and how can I get a paper application?

Paper applications will be available from June 15, 2020, through July 6th, 2020. Monday-Friday from 9:00 A.M. TO 4:00 PM. The application will be available at the Leasing Office at 2221 Fruitvale Ave, Oakland, CA 94601or please call at 510 534-6200 for mailed application.

Casa Velasco Features:

  • All units are equipped with energy efficient appliances, including refrigerator, stove.
  • All Apartments include full bathroom, lofted ceilings, oversized energy efficient dual paned windows , ceiling fans, heating units, carpets , closet space and some are ADA accessible or adaptable.
  • Laundry facility, community room with full kitchen, television, fireplace, internet accessible computer, and outdoor patio area are available on the 4th Floor.
  • Social Service Coordinator is available.
  • Casa Velasco is conveniently located near public transportation and shopping.

Seniors at Casa Velasco and our other Senior properties enjoy access to the Fruitvale-San Antonio Senior Center for social activities, classes, and events. Transportation is provided to and from the Senior Center free of charge.
