Shown here is the current design of the ground floor. Commercial space, office, and residential lobby line International Boulevard, with a gated interior parking garage, tucked behind it. The enlarged public sidewalk along International is flanked with trees.

Courtyard

The elevated green courtyard on the podium includes covered gathering space overlooking International Boulevard, while the community garden planters offer solace near the rear. A sturdy trellis provides the courtyard privacy and a sound buffer to residential neighbors below.

Street Views

These views of the building along International show the warm brick façade’s diamond pattern, a texture from differing brick thicknesses, mixed with a natural color palette. The glazed storefronts incorporate mosaics from local artists and provide transparency to the sidewalk.

Frequently Asked Questions

1)  WHAT IS AFFORDABLE HOUSING?

Most people call housing “affordable” when they don’t have to choose between paying rent and buying groceries, when they don’t have to live in crowded or unhealthy conditions, and when they can afford a home that provides a sense of security and community.

Policymakers and advocates call housing “affordable” when a household pays no more than 30% of its total income for housing costs (rent or mortgage payment, insurance, taxes, and utilities).

2) WHO WILL LIVE HERE?

2700 International will be affordable to families and individuals with incomes at or below 60% of the area median income. In Alameda County, this means about $54,000 for an individual or $78,000 for a family of four.

Rents will range from $734 to $2,036 depending on household and unit size.

  • 1-bed: $734-$1,468
  • 2-bed: $881-$1,468
  • 3-bed: $1,696-$2,036
