Oakland, CA – Mayor Libby Schaaf will donate her NBA Finals Game 2 tickets to raise money for the Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program. In coordination with The Unity Council, the highest bidder will receive two tickets located in a mezzanine-level suite at Oracle Arena.

“Oakland, we raised an amazing $21,200 for college scholarships with my Game 1 Warriors tickets — now let’s go big for more jobs for Oakland’s youth,” Mayor Libby Schaaf said. “This time, my Game 2 tickets are available to the person who submits the highest donation to raise money for the Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program.”

The Unity Council’s goal is to employ 100 youth during the summer and additional funding could help expand the program to 125 participants, said Chris Iglesias, Chief Executive Officer. Additional funding could also support 15 youth in a leadership training program.

“Everyone in Oakland benefits when our young people are working and developing their leadership skills,” Iglesias said. “The money raised is an investment in our community.”

Last year, the Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program helped employ nearly 2,000 young residents in Oakland. In 2018, the goal is 2,500.

The auction closes at 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 3 (day of game), and the winner will be notified by the Auction Manager for details on how to pick up tickets. The game starts at 5 p.m. PST
