We are pleased to announce that The Unity Council received a grant from The San Francisco Foundation for its work to create and preserve critically needed affordable housing in Oakland and to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the organization.
For over 50 years, The Unity Council has been supporting low-income families in their progress to achieve economic and housing security, attain a quality education, and to live in safe, vibrant neighborhoods where they can thrive. Using a lens of social equity, The Unity Council provides an innovative and neighborhood-focused portfolio of life-long, multi-layered programs. Since its founding in 1964, The Unity Council has been a consistent provider of poverty-fighting services in Oakland and the Bay Area with a particular emphasis on culturally competent, linguistically diverse programs. We thank The San Francisco Foundation for its support of The Unity Council’s mission to promote social equity and improve quality of life by building vibrant communities where everyone can work, learn, and thrive.
