The doors of the Fruitvale-San Antonio Senior Center will be open late to the public through Friday night, as a place for first responders, mourners, and other community members to come to rest. Two blocks away from the site of the horrific fire in a Fruitvale warehouse, The Unity Council seeks to provide space for conversation, art-making, or just to get a cup of coffee for those most closely impacted by the fire. Coffee and pastries, as well as art supplies, will be provided to guests. Hotline numbers for the Red Cross, the City of Oakland, Alameda County will also be available.
